The ampersand takes to the sea…

The ampersand is graphically derived from the fusion of the two letters e and t. The use of a ligature between letters is thought to have been devised by Marcus Tullius Tiro, a slave and secretary to Cicero, in the 1st century BC.
Over time, it has become much more than a ligature of letters and also expresses permanence, particularly in business partnerships: Dean & Deluca are united for a long time, as are Ben & Jerry’s and Marks & Spencer. But Simon and Garfunkel? No wonder they spent so much time splitting up. Tom and Jerry? Of course they hate each other,’ says Simon Garfield’s Sales Caractères, published by Le Seuil.

When we designed our logo in 2009, the ampersand symbolised the link between the teams and the world of the sea and its values.
To mark the logo’s 15th anniversary, we wanted to reinforce this idea even further.
The ampersand has become a major, preponderant part of our communication and has been stylised into a sailor’s knot!
What could be more evocative than a knot in formation, symbolising the link between land and sea, but above all symbolising the link that unites people?
The purpose of our business is the same: to link you to the sea, but above all to strengthen the ties that bind your teams, your customers and your partners!

For the next 15 years, don’t hesitate, come and hope with us and LIVE THE EXPERIENCE!
